THE SYRIAN JEWISH COMMUNITY:

OUR JOURNEY THROUGH HISTORY

a 7-part, 10-hour documentary film

To preserve our history and bring to life the stories of our community’s elders, the Sephardic Heritage Museum has produced a historical documentary film series, which traces the 3,000 year history of the Jews of Syria – from ancient times until today. Over a nearly ten year period, we set out to trace our community’s past from Syria to New York, South America, Israel and beyond. More than 300 community members were filmed about life in the Middle East to the shores of America, and we’ve gathered nearly 40,000 images to tell this story. The films have been screened to great acclaim at a number of venues, and are being incorporated into our current educational initiatives.
